Want to be a part of the Tolono Library Family? The Tolono Public Library District is looking for individuals interested in running for a seat on the library board. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of every month. The library will have five trustee positions open. We are looking for individuals who reside within the Tolono Public Library District who are at least 18 years of age. The term begins June 2027. Petitions are available at the library. Submit completed petitions to the library the week of November 16th. The deadline for petitions is November 23, 2026. For questions, contact the Board President at libraryboard@tolonolibrary.org.
Our Friends of the Tolono Library is also always looking for members to join their ranks to help with fundraising and events on behalf of the library. So far this fledging group has raised nearly $2,000 over the last year and have given back to the library and the patrons in many ways including paying for vendors at events and hosting programs for library patrons. If you’re interested in joining the Friends of the Tolono Library and giving back in this way, please email friends@tolonolibrary.org and let them know you’re interested. The next meeting of the Friends group is Thursday, October 1 from 4:30-5:30.
The Tolono Library is currently accepting donations of books and Halloween Costumes! We ask that all donated books be in “like-new” condition and from a smoke-free home. We are especially in need of fiction books printed in the last five to ten years. We also ask that any donated Halloween costumes be in “like-new” condition and clean. They will be set out during our Book Sale this October for families to shop; an easy way to trade out last year’s costume for a new one!
We have a lot of fun programs coming up this week to close out September at the library, and don’t forget that it’s the last week of Library Card Sign Up Month! Show your card at participating businesses to receive special discounts! For information on all of our upcoming programs, visit our website at tolonolibrary.org or stop by and pick up a calendar!
