Adult & Young Adult Areas

Our Adult and Young Adult areas are located on the east side of the Library and have a wide range of books and other types of materials available. These spaces also offer comfortable seating as well as table seating for those wishing to do work or tutoring.

Materials

Our Adult section has something for everyone! You will find popular fiction, non-fiction, and large print materials as well as inspirational fiction, romance, science fiction, and western materials. The Library also has a large selection of audiobooks on CD, Playaway devices, and magazines available.

For our teens, the Young Adult area has an engaging collection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as graphic novels for older teens and young adults.

Check out our Virtual Resources page for more information on electronic materials on Digital Libraries of Illinois and Hoopla.

Library Cards for Teens

For anyone under the age of 18, parents must apply for a library card on behalf of their child. Parents and caregivers must reside within the Tolono Public Library District boundaries or within the Unit 7 School District. When applying for a minor’s library card, the parent must provide a driver’s license or photo ID as well as proof of address.

Volunteer Opportunities

Need volunteer or community service learning hours for school or just want to get out of the house? Volunteer at the Tolono Public Library! Duties may vary, but might include preparing and/or helping with programs, retrieving items for library staff, and more!
