There are a lot of great programs coming up at the library for this first week of November. On Thursday, November 5, we are trying our second installment of the Cookbook Club from 6:00-7:00PM. Each month we will make different recipes from a selected cookbook and then come together to share them! For November, we will be making recipes from Turtle Island by Sean Sherman in order to celebrate Native American History Month. Place your request for a copy of the book, or stop in the library, peruse our book and copy down the recipe you want to bring. Bring your recipe to our meeting for everyone to enjoy! Registration is required for this event, and it is subject to cancellation if there is not enough interest! So be sure to call the library or visit our website to register today! On Friday, November 6, bring your toddlers to play with Ms. Leslie during Story Time and Sensory play at 10:00, then bring your school aged kids back at 3:30 to Youth Tinker Club; a bi-monthly meeting of kids who want to put their creative minds to use with our makerspace tools. These are both drop-in programs, and registration is not required for either event.
This Saturday, November 7, we are calling all Collectors to come to show off their collections at Collection Craze. Collectors can come and set up displays of their treasured items throughout the meeting room and library, then patrons will have the opportunity to walk through and view the various collections. Collectors with displays can stay by their display and talk about it to passersby or explore other collections themselves. Collectors should plan to arrive right at 11:00 to set up their displays; patrons can begin walking through and exploring at 12:00PM. Collector registration is required for this event so that we know how much room we need to prepare for; however, registration is not necessary to simply walk through and view the collections. This event is subject to cancellation if there are not enough interested collectors, so register today!
Finally, campfire season is in full swing, and what better to have with you than your own homemade flashlight projector. Great for telling stories and creating light pictures! Kids are welcome to join us at the library on Tuesday, November 10 from 4:00-5:00 to create their own flashlight projectors. Registration is required for this event so that we can ensure we have plenty of supplies! To see a full list of all of our upcoming programs be sure to check out our website or stop in the library and grab a calendar. (Reminder! The library will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day.)
