Play Group with Friends / Thursday, January 11th, 10:30—11:00 a.m. Bring your children for a playdate at the Library while you enjoy conversation with other parents and caregivers in the community. Recommended Ages: 0-5.
Illinois Libraries Present: Speculating our AI Future (via Zoom) / Thursday, January 11th, 7:00—8:00 p.m. Join us for a panel discussion featuring three bestselling science fiction writers, Cory Doctorow, Ken Liu, and Martha Wells. They will discuss the promise, perils, and possible impacts that AI will have on our future, as well as AI in contemporary and future science fiction writing. Registration required.
Jigsaw Puzzle Contest / Friday, January 12th, 5:30—7:00 p.m. Come celebrate National Puzzle Month at the Library by competing in teams to put together your puzzle the quickest! There will be four family teams and four adult teams. Limited space. Please register online or by calling the Library. All Ages Welcome!
The IDEA Zone / Saturday, January 13th, 1:00—3:30 p.m. Come to the Library and bring your designs to life in the IDEA Zone! We have a variety of materials, supplies, and equipment for you to use or bring your own! A signed user agreement must be completed by the time of the event. A copy of this agreement can be found on our website [HERE] or by visiting the Library. Recommended Ages: 8+. Parental supervision required.
Coffee Talk / Wednesday, January 17th, 9:00—10:00 a.m. Twice a month, seniors are welcome to visit for coffee and light refreshments in the company of other seniors in the community! This week, Sandy Hockman from Evergreen Place will talk about avoiding senior scams. Recommended Ages: Senior.
STEAMers: Falling Down Machines / Wednesday, January 17th, 10:30—11:00 a.m. Put on your thinking cap at the Library for an activity that’s full of science, learning, and fun. This week, we’re building a giant line of foam blocks and obstacles that will fall down with just a push! Recommended Ages: 0-5.

Snowman Escape Room / Friday, January 19th, 4:00—6:30 p.m. A friendly snowman needs your help to get back out into the cold before he melts! Groups will solve a winter wonderland of puzzles and unlock a delicious box full of candy. Each escape room lasts for 30 minutes. Limited Space. Please register online or call the Library.
