At its last meeting, the LKBC (Low Key Book Club) chose “romance” as the theme for their book in February. Choose any romance book to read (or don’t) and join us for our next meeting on the first Monday of March.
The Tolono Public Library is in full celebration mode this week! Couples are pairing up for Clerk Megan’s “Glow Paint with a Partner” class on Thursday, February 12 from 5:30-7:00PM. They will be using acrylic paint that glows under UV light, and each couple will paint one half a whole picture. Unfortunately, our capacity for this event is full, but you can still join the waitlist, and we will contact you if a spot opens up. Registration for all our month’s events always opens on the first of the month; be sure to set a reminder so you don’t miss out next time!
We will also celebrate Valentine’s Day with the little ones at Storytime on Friday, February 13 from 10:00-10:30AM. Be sure to bring your babies and toddlers to sit and listen to stories of love and friendship.
The celebrations continue Tuesday, February 17 from 6:00-7:30, where we will host an Interactive History presentation for Mardi Gras! Learn about the history of carnival and how it is traditionally celebrated. You’ll get to experience the music and culture of New Orleans, eat a piece of authentic New Orleans King Cake (from Gambino’s Bakery), and create your own masks and parade throws. RSVP to this event on our website or by calling the library. Your registration is appreciated but not required.
February 17th is also the Lunar New Year, and we are inviting you to celebrate by grabbing one of our Cherry Blossom Sign MYCC kits that will be out on the counter starting that Monday.
February 18 is the third Wednesday of the month, so mark your calendars for Coffee Talk from 9:00-10:00AM, and, as always, there will be Teen FabLab in the afternoon from 3:30-5:00.
