September is National Library Card Sign Up Month, and the Tolono Public Library is celebrating in a big way! Throughout the month of September, Tolono Library Card holders can present their physical card at five different local businesses and save on their product or service. Best Life Therapies is offering $10 off of a 60 minute massage, Rocket Fluff & Fold is offering 10% off any Wash, Dry, & Fold order, RegCakes Gluten Free Bakery is offering $5 off any purchase of $25 or more, Madeline Wilson Photography is offering $25 off of a session, and Events at 108 is offering 20% off of your venue booking when you book your event in September. Don’t have a Tolono Library Card? All NEW patrons who sign up for a library card in September receive a coupon for a free game of bowling or mini golf from Old Orchard Lanes and Links.
We also want to take time this September, during National Library Card Sign Up Month, to ask our patrons to please remember to bring their library card with them when they come to check materials out from the library. To provide a consistent service to all our patrons, we will be requiring, per our Circulation Policy, that patrons present either their physical/digital library card, library card number, or photo ID to check out materials. When you come to the library to either sign up for or renew your library card, you will need your driver’s license (or other form of photo ID with your current address) as well as an additional document with your current address to confirm (this can be a piece of mail or digital or physical bill or other legal statement).
You do not, however, need a library card to participate in the programs coming up this week! Thursday, August 27th from 5:30-7:30PM, we are painting our own book edges! You’ve seen the books in stories with the fancy, decorated page edges; now you can create your own! On Saturday, August 29th at 1:00PM, we are hosting the first meeting of our Local Author Book Club. We will be reading the series Children of the Morning Star series by Kastie Pavlik. At this first meeting, we will give member digital access to the book so that we can read and discuss it at our September meeting. Tuesday, September 1 at 12:30-2:00 will be our first TuesDIY. This time will be set aside for anyone to come use our crafting supplies and tools, hang out in our meeting room and work on craft projects. Finally, Wednesday, September 2nd at 9:00 is Coffee Talk, and our speaker will be Liz Frerichs, who will be talking about the art of Feng Shui. For a full list of our events, be sure to check out our website www.tolonolibrary.org/events. We’ll see you soon at the library.
