The Red Cross would like your input. The Tolono Public Library is partnering with the Red Cross to hold a blood drive in the near future. Please take the survey to mark your interest and help make this possible. The survey is only eight brief questions and can be found HERE.

We are starting up an Amazon wishlist to purchase supplies for events and programs, especially for some of our new programs like STEM Explorers, the Makerspace, and LEGO Club. If you would like to support a program, please consider buying one of the items on our wishlist! Our wishlist can be found HERE.

Programs and Events This Week

Kids Craft Time: Birdhouses / Thursday, August 17th, 3:30—5:30 p.m. Do the birds in your yard need a new home? Come to the Library to paint and decorate a birdhouse! Recommended Ages: 6-11.

Adult Craft N’ Chat: DIY Journals / Friday, August 18th, 5:30—7:00 p.m. Want to learn how to make your own journal by hand? Then stop by the Library to create one! Limited space. Register online or call the Library. Recommended Ages: 18+.

Summer Saturdays in the Park: Big Summer Bash / Saturday, August 19th, 10:00—12:00 p.m. Join us for our Big Summer Bash! Visit the Savoy Rec Center and the Tolono Library at Colbert Park in Savoy to enjoy some pizza. Kids will also be able to get their faces painted, pick up a balloon animal, and choose a free book. All ages are welcome!

Outdoor Storytime / Tuesday, August 22nd, 10:0010:30 a.m. Come to the Library for a fun story time filled with stories, songs, and silly rhymes. Recommended Ages: 0-5

Switch Crew / Wednesday, August 23rd, 3:30—5:00 p.m. Stop by the Library to unwind and play popular Nintendo Switch games with new friends. While you wait your turn to play, we’ll have other activities for you to try out! Recommended Ages: 6-18.

Upcoming Programs

STEM Explorers: Lava Lamps / Thursday, August 24th, 4:00—5:30 p.m. Stop by the Library and build and decorate your own lava lamp! We’ll also learn about density and molecules. Recommended Ages: 6-11.

Page Turners Book Club / Saturday, September 2nd, 2:00—3:00 p.m. Join other readers at the Library to discuss “Killers of the Flower Moon: the Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI” by David Grann. Light refreshments are provided. No registration necessary. Recommended Ages: 18+.
