Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party / Saturday, June 3rd, 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. The Summer Reading Program kicks off with special guest Richard Landry, performing his “Where the Magic of Reading Never Ends” magic show featuring Snowball, the white rabbit! Before the show begins, grab a Kona Ice, sign up for the Summer Reading Program, then sit back and enjoy the show! Recommended Ages: All.
Play Hour with Friends / Monday, June 5th, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Bring along your little ones for a playdate at the Library while you enjoy conversation and coffee with other parents and caregivers in the community! Fun activities will be provided for the kids as adults chat. Recommended Ages: 0-5.
Outdoor Storytime / Tuesday, June 6th, 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Come to the Library for a fun story time filled with stories, songs, and silly rhymes! Bring a blanket or lawn chair for story time on the grass. Recommended Ages: 0-5.
Illinois Libraries Present: Navigate Your Stars: A Conversation with Jesmyn Ward (via Zoom) / Tuesday, June 6th, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Two-time National Book Award winner Jesmyn Ward will discuss her life, her literary vision, and unique perspective on love and loss. Tracie D. Hall, Executive Director of American Library Association, will join her in conversation. Registration required.
Coffee Talk / Wednesday, June 7th, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Twice a month, seniors are welcome to visit the Library for coffee and light refreshments in the company of other seniors in the community! This week, we have a special guest, Taylor Ferguson from Kirby Senior Life Solutions, hosting a workshop about self-care. Recommended Ages: Senior.
