I: Mission Statement
The Tolono Public Library District strives to provide diverse programming and technology-based services to its residents, constantly improving and upgrading the resources for both patrons and staff.
II: Goals/Objectives
These goals/objectives are based on the mission statement Goals (objectives) for 2020-2025:
- Provide diverse programming aimed at patrons of all ages
- Increase the number of programs, both in the Library and off-site
- Increase the number of outreach programs
- Partner with Unit 4 and 7 schools to ensure the Library District is meeting the needs of students
- Expand computer-based programming for every age
- Deliver a wide range of services, emphasizing today’s technology-based world
- Update welcome packet with an overview of library collections and services (also made available
online) - Complete a comprehensive collection study of all resources to identify gaps
- Increase the circulation of electronic databases
- Create technology welcoming areas in the Library

- Apply for new grant opportunities each year
- Enhance the website to make it more user friendly
- Promote World Cat and other lesser-known resources
- Support ongoing professional staff development

- Maintain capital replacement schedule
- Provide a yearly balanced budget
- Promote Library Board Participation
- Promote the collections and services to the community
- Participate in relevant local, state, regional, and national decisions made to effect change that will benefit libraries
- Each board member attends one staff meeting annually
